McKinley dollhouse - Week Ten

OOoops... I forgot to post week ten!

There was sanding... and sanding... and sanding...

And I got some 'imperfections'... but I plastered that.

Then I 'plastered' the ceiling and when that was dry... More sanding!!!

Now there she is, the Scottish girl.. sitting there waiting till I decide how to continued.

 

I'm going to work on the staircase, fireplace and start to build the curved staircase to the tower observatory (for those that are uninformed, that's the space from the tower roof that I'm going to put to use. ;)

McKinley dollhouse - between weeks nine and ten

Helloooo!!!

I was filling the gaps... then I thought "why not cover the whole thing?"...
I choose a white f12 paste since I consider white the easiest color to cover with regular paint.

I will not cover the roofs 'cause the shingles will be a dark color or 'wood-like'... I have not decide yet.
Tomorrow, the exterior will be more or less dried so I'll be able to cover the interior walls.
Then it's sanding time for me, I'm afraid.
Aeh... I think I'm going to have to invest in a very good mask.

Oh!, I almost forgot:
I'm thinking about opening the tower roof, add a floor (since the freaking thing is open to bellow) and I'll get another room!
What do you guys think? Yay or Nay? Let me know, okay?

McKinley dollhouse - Week nine!

Wow... week nine!

Not much was done this week 'cause I had to cut the new roof part. Twice, 'cause I'm stooooopid.
I measured three times and STILL managed to cut short.
But it's done and already glued in place.

It came from a very large sheet of plywood I had for ages that I used it as a extension surface to put a very large puzzle I had ( which, after several months I gave up and I send to my little cousin ). As you can see this piece of plywood was already sealed, but in the end will not show up anyway.
I also cut a supporting wall so I can have 3 rooms in the attic space ( including the tower space ). Also glued in place:

As you can see I'm still holding my 'I'm stoopid' card since I cut the wall 4 mm longer than needed. AEH...

Next week it's the week to send the gaps galore away

 That's the tower room seen from the corner room in the attic. Gaps! What a shocker...

And this is the My McKinley Dollhouse today... Only two parts to finish the structural part. YEY ME!

Now it's back to cutting shingles.. I HAVE BLISTERS! And me thinks I won't have enough shingles for all the roof... ARGH!

McKinley dollhouse - week eight

Hi,

I didn't have much done this week.
But I have some pictures to show.

I made a table from scraps:

And I started cutting the shingles:

 Right now the dollhouse is on its back (or front?) with the second part of the roof drying:

McKinley dollhouse - week seven

Hi

Not much was done this week 'cause gluing staircases are the work of the devil...
But it's done:

I re-glued the tower in it's proper place:

And glued the upper back part:

Gaps galore!... That's what you get when you get excited when sanding... StOOOOOOOOOOOOOpid me!:

Next, the tower roof... 37 minutes to get the parts together with tape.. Apparently I'm all thumbs today, Aeh:

What a productive week!

Fireplace done:

Bathroom cabinet is done, and I added a extra side so I can change the placement if I wanted.:

And I finally did the Bedroom woodfloor:

I'm going to start measuring the attic floor now.
