Books, books everywhere!

Hello my good people!

It's been a long time since I blogged... No inspiration and lazyness contributed to my non-craft fun times.

But I have not been completely useless... I became addicted to Pinterest and digital libraries.
I found marvelous sites where you can download books and I got loads of it that I'm turning into miniature books!
I confess I spend a great deal of the time reading them and I'm in love with Illuminated Manuscripts.
Right now I'm working with "Les Très Riches Heures du duc de Berry" by the Limboug Brothers.

The prototype of calendar part of this Books of Hours is done!

Gluing the folios accordion style

Second prototype:  a bit bigger using the folios from the pdf download, with the original book cover printed.

That's it for now! Back to work, next in line is the "Heures d'Anne de
Bretagne" Beauiful decorations! Beeeeautiful!

The Brimbles Mercantile: full stock and sealed from dust. And books!

Hi Y'all

The Bits&Bobs is full! Finally!!!! I made many books - and got addicted to them - I got many thingies and added all I could fit there.

In other news, as a book junkie I found a gem in the web: The first book I read as a child and I turned it into a mini!.
I present to you: The Cinderella Golden Book from Disney - 1958 or 59 (I'm not sure)
I remember reading this book hundreds of times with my sister and I always considered the dress in the book more gorgeous than the dress in the movie.
I got the jpeg pictures and convert to a pdf file. Then I printed in high quality in "multiple page sizing" (pages for sheet 5/5).The cover I printed in poster size at 18% so I could have a bit of overlap, and Voilá!:

FYI: Here in Brazil we use centimeters.
I love minibooks!!
Cheers!

Paint Job, Part Five

Hellooooooo!!!!

Ufi, Ufi... The bunk bed is done.
In lilac, although it looks kind of pink in the photos... Go figure!

I used 3 bottles of a lilac nail polish called 'Lilás'. The inside parts were a bitch to paint, just so you know.

But it's done and I'm happy.

Paint Job, Part Four

Hello!

The baby crib is done... in blue. The pink did not work well so...
I used 1 1/2 bottle of nail polish blue called "Clean" ( don't ask - Brazilian nail polish have weird names.)

Next the bunk-bed (is that the right word?).The piece of furniture has hearts on it...  I'm thinking lilac or red...

Paint Job, Part Two

Hi, Y'all!

Happy New Year!!!

I finished the baby high-chair about 10 minutes ago.. White shiny gloss...

YEY! I used two bottles but it was so worthy! I like very much, and it's so soft to the touch.

Next is the desk. I choose black.. very poshy in my opinion.
The baby crib is taking forever...and I think I'm going to have to change colors 'cause the pink I'm using, it's not working very well.

Hello hello!

I just finished painting my first piece of furniture.
I don't know the name in english, sorry.

I really liked the green. And there's a shiny gloss, 'cause I used ... nail polish... HEHEHE.
Cheap, very easy to use and dry very fast.
Next one is the baby chair... white nail polish. ;) I'm half way done already!
