The Fairfield dollhouse - Day 40

Hi, everyone!

I did nothing this last week... I had a severe case of laziness and 'dollhouse block'. BUT today I woke up determined to do something about it.
So I primed/painted the Fairfield.

Everything is white for now:

Now I'm at the final stages of planning the staircases and I'll be gluing them tomorrow... I hope..
Time to nap off the paint fumes...

The Fairfield dollhouse - Days 30 to 39

HI!

'Stucco' was done.

It dried and I was going to leave 'au naturel' but I got scratched by it, so I decided to sand it some...

I really like the 'not so perfect' look. To me, that makes it more real-life like.
I really need some masks... I think I inhaled a ton of wood paste dust... No coughing...yet...
And the staircases drama still is ongoing!
More later, this Sunday... maybe...

Cheers!

The Fairfield dollhouse - Days 27 to 29

Hi

I forgot to add the pictures of the Left Gable in place.

After that I work - very hard - on the Tower Base and its extended walls...
Looking from inside. Yes, there's some gaps but it will be gone after I add some stucco and the interior wall coverings... I hope. :D

Now I'm going to leave the Fairfield to rest and let its glue to dry completely.
The rest of the Gables will be added this week. Next is stucco and the staircases... and CHOICES!! ARGH!

The Fairfield dollhouse - Days 25 and 26

Hi!

I decided to work on the inner wall in the third floor and the roof, instead of the staircases...
I bleed and cried but the roof is going good...
I cut the original Main Gable/Left so I could have opening for the tower space. I added some scrap wood so the height was the same with the Left Gables:

I made a inner wall so I could have a private room in the third floor:

View from the back:

View from above. Not too shabby!:

That's all for now. I'm going to spray paint/primer all tomorrow so I can glue the Front of the Left Gable in place. And the tower roof is going to be a pain to bash...

Later, Cheers!

The Fairfield dollhouse - Days 16 to 20

Hi!

The fireplace column is a nightmare to put together...
I broke a fingernail got dozens of splinters and cut a finger... Let's not forget: Sanding sucks!

The Left wall in its place.

Front view, for now:

Dry fitting the fireplace from hell:

The attic fireplace is not level with the floor, but I was told that this is normal in real life, so...:

I'm making the final adjustments for the extension of the tower walls so I can glue it in place. And I still have to cut the gap into the attic floor for the staircase.
I think I'll be gluing the bay windows walls today. But that will happen after lunch, I'm hungry!
