McKinley dollhouse - how is suppose to look
Hi!
This is how a McKinley Dollhouse is suppose to look if you (have a very creative imagination ) and follow the very very VERY basic assembly instructions.
I have seen many 'bashings' that made this dollhouse look very poshy. Let's hope mine ends up somewhat decent. Beyoncé will probably disembowel me if not...
McKinley dollhouse - week fiveish (?)
I'm going to add the outer roof parts this weekend ( the gods willing of course ).
I'm going to do some 'bashing' because the attic is kind of a not usable/wasted space and I WANT MORE SPACE!
And I started the fireplace - which I'm still not sure I'll add to the dollhouse, 'cause you know... I WANT MORE SPACE!
And I have started the plans for the flooring.
My choices for the floor is woodwork (read Popsicle sticks) in the bedroom, hallway, living/dinning room and the attic 'space'.
The walls will be white 'plaster' - on every wall, 'cause my furniture is kind of busy....
The kitchen/bathroom floors AND walls will be tiles. I found a great (and cheap!!!) place that sells them in large quantities and in good quality.
Since I got a bathtub that is 'porcelain' brown I want the bath to be a brown/caramel/bege and white 'thingie'. My favorites:
1st!
the green is gooorgeous!
the black one is soooo posh!
nice!Exterior... nooo idea...
that's all folks.. Later!

McKinley dollhouse - Week Four
Hello!
I'm stoooopid so I'm 'ungluing' the tower parts since I was not able to cut the round window I needed it.
AND since I was in the mood I unglued the porch floor to I could redo the freaking front steps.I used my hair dryer to soften the glue.
Victory!!!...after 3 hours I was able to unglue the tower parts, the porch floor, place the front steps and re-glue the porch floor.
The result:
The front steps:
And this is the round window - and I got only 7 new cuts on my fingers:
The darker one is the one I did, the other is the original die-cut (?) - looks good enough for me:
Next, I think I'll put the staircase together. and the fireplace.

McKinley dollhouse - Week Three
Hello!
I haven't done much this week..
Almost finish the tower, only missing the roof.
and I started the kitchen bay window roof.
And I am half way through the fireplace 'thingy'
AND I sanded all the parts for the staircase.

McKinley dollhouse - And we have gaps... lots of gaps
Hi!
Gaps... no matter how or where I glue, gaps are abound.
And I mixed some tower parts and glued wrong... Results: I'm going to have cut a new hole. ARGH!

McKinley dollhouse - Week Two
Hello, Hello!
I'm still working on the McKinley dollhouse
Picture time!
Tower:
Large gap between the 'walls', I think I'm going to have to fill that up... aeh
Kitchen bay window:
The drawers:
See the floor support. It's not a 90º angle so the drawer did not fit anymore... ARGH!
So I had to cut and sand and cut and sand THEN glue... the eraser' boxes are weighting the thing down...
I have about 5 thousand splinters.. Good times... NOT
This is how The McKinley looks tonight. I still have a LOT of work to do.
